Plan Your Trip

Plan your trip · Ningxia

One day or three.
A journey that’s yours.

Start with a tasting, stay for the stories. Choose a suggested itinerary or build a visit around the places and experiences you love.

Three ways to begin

Find your pace.

These suggested routes start and finish in Yinchuan. Allow full sightseeing days, with arrival and departure time planned separately.

01 / 1 day · Two nearby cellar doors

A taste of Ningxia

A relaxed first introduction to the Helan foothills, with time to taste, talk and enjoy the landscape.

Morning

Leave Yinchuan for a pre-arranged winery visit in the Helan foothills. Start with an introduction to the estate and a tasting.

Lunch

Pause for lunch near your route. A winery meal can be requested in advance where available.

Afternoon

Visit a second nearby cellar door, or swap it for a slower vineyard and scenery stop. Return to Yinchuan for the evening.

02 / 2 days · A deeper look at the region

The wine-country escape

Make time for different producers, local food and the people behind the wines.

Day 1 · Helan foothills

Follow the one-day route: two nearby wineries, a lunch break and an evening in Yinchuan. Choose estates around the same part of the foothills.

Day 2 · Yongning / Yuquanying

Explore a second wine area south of Yinchuan. Arrange one winery in the morning and one nearby estate after lunch, with time to compare their styles.

Evening

Return to Yinchuan for a relaxed local dinner. Stay in the city between tasting days; winery accommodation can be discussed separately.

03 / 3 days · Wine, culture and local life

Wine & beyond

Two days in wine country, followed by a different perspective on Ningxia.

Days 1–2 · Wine country

Follow the two-day wine-country route, keeping each day focused on a single area rather than crossing the region between tastings.

Day 3 · Western Xia heritage

Spend the morning at the Western Xia Imperial Tombs and museum. Pause for lunch, then return to Yinchuan for a city stroll and local food.

Make it yours

Prefer mountain scenery and ancient rock art? Replace the heritage day with a visit to the Helan Mountain Rock Art site and an unhurried afternoon. Choose one cultural route for the day.

Before you go

A little planning goes a long way.

Book each visit

Confirm your winery appointments, language support and meal arrangements before setting off.

Keep the route close

Group nearby estates, leave time between appointments and arrange a driver for tasting days.

Leave room to explore

Use Yinchuan as a base and choose one cultural or mountain outing for a day beyond the vineyards.

Looking for a desert extension?

Tell us if you would like to add a desert experience to your wine journey. We can discuss a separate day or a longer route, allowing for travel time rather than fitting a distant excursion between winery appointments.
